What We Do

Three ways we work with a watch

Conservative cleaning service

Service 01

Conservative Cleaning & Light Servicing

Dial and hands untouched. Case cleaned by hand, not machine. Movement cleaned, lubricated, and returned with a written record of what was deliberately left alone. Bench time: two weeks.

  • Rate log before and after service
  • Fresh crown gasket fitted
  • Photographs of untouched surfaces
  • Written record of each deliberate omission
RM 560 Enquire
Chronograph function service

Service 02

Chronograph Function & Pusher Service

Column-wheel and cam-actuated chronograph mechanisms, covering pusher feel, reset alignment, hammer depth and clutch engagement. Suited to owners whose seconds hand hesitates or fails to reset. Scope: three to five weeks.

  • Pusher seals and springs replaced
  • All three registers aligned
  • Timing log: chronograph on and off
  • Twelve months workmanship coverage
RM 2,100 Enquire
Estate timepiece assessment

Service 03

Estate Timepiece Assessment & Staged Restoration

A structured programme for families settling a collection of older watches. Each piece passes through assessment, conservation, and — only where sensible — restoration. Any piece can be withdrawn at any point. Duration: five to nine months.

  • Written inventory with condition grades
  • Staged bench work agreed one watch at a time
  • Storage in monitored cabinet between stages
  • Closing dossier for future custodians
RM 4,300 Enquire

Why Balance Cog

Careful hands, clear records, and no unnecessary work

Condition recorded before we start

Every piece receives a written assessment before any bench work begins, so the owner knows exactly what was present before we touched it.

Hand methods over machine polishing

We do not use ultrasonic baths on dials or cases where the finish has value. Hand cleaning takes longer; so does the case for doing it that way.

Written record of what we left alone

Some things are worth leaving. The service report notes every deliberate omission alongside the work performed, so the record is complete in both directions.

Realistic timelines, no rushed completions

Bench time is quoted per service and reflects actual work. We do not compress schedules in ways that reduce the care taken.

Parts returned with the watch

Replaced components are packaged and returned alongside the serviced piece. The owner decides what to keep; we do not discard original parts.

Plain-language explanations throughout

Technical terms are noted where they help; plain language is used everywhere else. The assessment is written for the owner, not for another watchmaker.

A watch that belongs to someone should run.

Bring it in or send us a message. We will assess the piece and describe the options without committing you to anything.

Common Questions

Things people usually ask before sending a watch

How do I get a watch to you? +

Drop it off at the workshop at 27 Jalan SS 15/4B, Subang Jaya, or contact us first by phone or email. If the watch needs to be shipped, we will discuss packing and courier options with you before anything is sent.

Will you polish the case as part of a service? +

Not by default, and not without asking first. Case polishing removes material and changes a surface permanently. We note the current finish in the assessment and ask before doing anything that cannot be undone. If you would prefer the case left exactly as it arrived, we record that preference and follow it.

How long does servicing take? +

Conservative cleaning: approximately two weeks. Chronograph servicing: three to five weeks depending on parts. Estate assessments: five to nine months across the full programme. Bench time is set by the work, not by a target date. We will update you if anything changes.

Do you service quartz watches? +

Our current work is focused on mechanical and automatic movements. If you have a quartz piece that requires attention, contact us and we can advise on whether it falls within our current scope.

What if I decide not to proceed after the assessment? +

The assessment is the beginning of a conversation, not a commitment. You receive the condition notes and can decide whether to proceed with any work. For estate programmes, individual pieces can be withdrawn at any point.

Are the listed prices complete? +

The prices shown cover the scope described for each service. If an additional finding requires work outside that scope — a broken jewel, a worn keyless work — we will describe it and ask before proceeding. We do not carry out additional work without agreement.

Is my watch covered while it is with you? +

Pieces are stored in a monitored cabinet while at the workshop. For estate programmes, storage between stages is included in the service scope. Before leaving a watch with us, we record its condition and photograph it, so the intake record is clear for both parties.
