What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember certain information about your visit — such as whether you have accepted this notice — so that you do not have to re-enter it each time. Cookies do not run programmes or carry viruses. They are simply pieces of text that help a site function as intended or gather information about how it is used.

You can accept or decline cookies through the controls on this page or through your browser settings. Declining optional cookies does not prevent you from using this site, though some features may behave differently.

Cookies we use

Essential Cookies

Always active

Required for basic site functions — storing your cookie consent choice so we do not repeat this banner on every visit. These cannot be disabled while using the site.

Analytics Cookies

Optional

Help us understand which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site. Data is aggregated and anonymised — no individual is identified. Used to improve the site over time.

Marketing Cookies

Optional

Used to deliver relevant advertising where applicable and to measure the effectiveness of any ad campaigns. Balance Cog does not currently run advertising; these cookies apply to third-party platforms that may be active in future.

Preference Cookies

Optional

Remember choices you have made — such as language or display preferences — so you do not need to re-enter them on return visits.

Duration: Up to 12 months  |  Set by: Balance Cog

Changes take effect immediately. If you decline optional cookies after previously accepting them, you may need to clear existing cookies in your browser settings.

Third-party cookies

Where optional categories are enabled, third-party services may set their own cookies. These include:

  • Google Analytics — website traffic analysis
  • Google Ads — conversion tracking (if advertising is active)
  • Meta Pixel — audience measurement (if social advertising is active)
  • Microsoft Clarity / Bing Ads — usage insight and ad measurement

Third-party cookies are governed by those parties' own privacy policies. We do not control what those services do with the data they collect.
